Despite
missing 3 key players, including starter AJ
Braun, Coach Dave Ducco’s # 5 ranked 2021 Cincinnati Royals Blue squad
opened the Bill Henley Memorial Run N Slam 1-0 after a 72-18 win over the Gym
Rats 2021-Dream Big. The Royals rode a
“total team effort” to erase an early 5-0 deficit and go on to get the lopsided
victory. Playing for the Royals this
weekend is big Wil Sizer, who
formally ran with Marty Finta’s All-Ohio Red squad. Sizer will add lost post scoring and
rebounding to an already solid team.
In terms of other
Ohio-based teams, All-Ohio Gold, Pro-Bound 2021 and Hidden Gyms-Black are also
1-0, while NW Ohio, Hardwork Basketball, All-Ohio Red, Hidden Gyms 2021, Ohio
Hoopsters-Cook, Ohio Stampede, Ohio Varsity/Shooting Stars, and Ohio
Hoopster-Tillman are all 0-1 after Friday action. We hope to follow all of the
Ohio teams during the course of the weekend.
