Buckeyes Make Impact at National Camp

Zach Loveday-Ranked 8th at National Camp
This past weekend, several Ohio players traveled to Woodland, TX to participate in John Lucas’ International Middle School Combine.  Of the handful of Buckeyes who attended the event, two were highlighted by Hoop Scoop’s Clark Francis in his post-camp report and rankings.  Zach Loveday (6’10/C/2020/Bidwell) was ranked 8th overall and received the following write-up:  “Loveday is not as strong physically as [Dareyon] Dickerson around the basket, but he still more than held his own in their head-to-head matchup…and he impressed everybody with his agility, mobility and ability to run the court as well as he does at his size… He is also very fluid around the basket and has good hands excellent timing, and gets a surprising number of rebounds…

Grant Huffman (6’2/SG/Aurora) was the only other Buckeye recognized by Francis.  Huffman was ranked 30th and was described by Francis as a “tough, hardnosed competitor with good footwork, a great nose for the ball, and the ability to light up a scoreboard.”  Some of the other Ohio kids at the event included: Isaiah Kennedy, Jaden Hameed, BJ Bransford and Ketwann Wyatt, Devin Hightower, Devonte Blanton and Nick Camacho.  Congrats to Loveday and Huffman for gaining more national recognition.  You can catch both players in action this weekend at Reynoldsbug High School (Summit) as they participate in the UA Next Combine Series and the Buckeye Prep Elite 60 Midwest Challenge.
