All-Star Saturday Recap

For the 13th consecutive year, Richard Crockett’s All-Star Saturday event was a great success. Despite less than ideal weather predictions all week long, by the time the first Easter egg or piece of candy was found, the sun had burst through the clouds to make the day perfect. In addition to the Easter egg hunt, All-star Saturday is about featuring the best basketball players in the area, through a series of exhibitions games in four divisions. This year posed a problem because the event fell on the same weekend as the King James Shooting Star Classic, reducing the number and quality of the pool of players appropriate for this event. However, with a lot of hard work all of the rosters were filled, and a standing room only crowd was treated to some great basketball. A slam dunk contest was held during the half time of the high school game and several players vied for the title. Although he was not the most explosive guy in the contest, Northland's Trey Burke finished more of his dunks and took home the title. Check out the video of the final round. Also, to see see some of the pictures I took at the event, visit the Buckeye Prep Facebook Fan Page. Below are the rosters, scoring and results of the four exhibition games.
