Ohio Kids Ranked Nationally

Shelby Humphrey & Mari Bickley
Recently, the Naismith National Youth All-American Report updated their Girls 2023 Super 75 rankings and included several Ohio girls.  Ohio’s class of 2023 is absolutely loaded with talent, so it comes as no surprise to use that the Buckeye State is represented on the list. Shelby Humprey (5’11”Post/ 2023/Cincinnati) is the highest ranked Ohio player at 11th, followed by Mari Bickley (5’10”/WF/2023/Akron) at 13th, Jessica Roper (67th) and Makayla Lute (69th).  Of course we’re well aware of Humprey’s and Bickley’s talent, as both players not only attended our spring Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase, but excelled, and are currently ranked among the top 5 in our Buckeye Prep 2023 Top Player List.

From what we understand, the Naismith National Youth All-American Report is a credible source of information for both boys girls basketball, and their staff has actually seen and evaluated every player they’ve ranked.  On another note, although they are not currently ranked, we would be surprised if there are 75 players nationally better than Margo Mattis and Janyah Bohanon!  We’re just saying! Also, it’s interesting to note, the same organization has 3 Ohio-based team ranked among their top 25, including All-Ohio Xpress (8th), Dayton Lady Hoopstars (15th) and All-Ohio (now Ohio Lady Dream) (17th). Congratulations to all of the players and teams who received this national recognition!
