The pool assignments, tournament schedule and rules can be found on the Jr. All-American Camp website.
For the 6th consecutive year, the Buckeye Prep Invitational Tournament promises to be very competitive. Right now, 75 teams from across the state and Michigan will be descending on Columbus April 2nd, 3rd and 4th for the annual event. Some of the top 5th thru 11th grade teams slated to attend include: All-Ohio (Red & Purple), Queen City Prophets, Michigan Titans, Team Toledo, Cincinnati Lakers, Buckeye Prep, Dayton Salvation Army, Saginaw Panthers and the Friars Blue Storm.

This year's event will be held at multiple sites including Ohio Dominican University (ODU), Westerville South High School (West 1 & 2), Whitehall Yearling High School (WHHS 1-3). A maximum of 80 teams will participate this year. In terms of the format, there is a 3-game guarantee with the top 2 teams in each pool advancing to single elimination bracket play on Sunday. The exposure opportunities will be great, as there will be several scouting services in the house evaluating the kids. If you are interested in entering a team in the tournament you need to send an email to: Taylorobe@aol.com ASAP to reserve a spot. Send a MO payable to Rob Taylor to 585 Tall Oaks Dr. Gahanna, Oh. 43230., or make your payment via Pay Pal on the upper right of this website. Keep an eye on the comment section of this story for tournament updates.

    Coaches,

I’m currently finishing up plans for my 6th Annual Buckeye Prep Invitational tournament scheduled for April 2nd, 3rd and 4th (Easter weekend). Right now, I have 72 5th-11th grade teams entered into the tournament, with a maximum of 80 teams total for the tournament. At this point, after I get 80 paid teams, I will be closing things out. If you are interested in entering a team this year, I have to hear from you by Wednesday (at Taylorobe@aol.com), and have your payment by Friday the 19th.

The tournament sites for this year are Ohio Dominican University (1216 Sunbury Rd Columbus), Westerville South High School (303 South Otterbein Rd, Westerville), Whitehall Yearling High School (675 S Yearling Rd. Whitehall) and Blendon Middle School (336 S. Otterbein Rd, Westerville). This y ear, the entry fee is $350, with a 3-game guarantee. The top 2 teams in each bracket will advance to a single-elimination bracket play on Sunday. Individual trophies will be presented to the top 2 teams in each division, including MVP and all-tournament team awards. As always, the exposure opportunities will be great (see some of the past reports below), as several scouting services (ESPN, Prep Spotlight, The Hoop Scoop, Ohio High School Hoops and others) will be in the house. Make certified check s or money orders out to Rob Taylor and send to 585 Tall Oaks Dr. Gahanna, Ohio 43230 by the end of next week. You can also pay on line via Pay Pal from the link on the Buckeye Prep website.

Some of the top teams in this year’s tournament include: All-Ohio Red & Purple, Michigan Titans, Saginaw Panthers (MI), Queen City Prophets, Cincinnati Lakers, Dayton Salvation Army, King James and Buckeye Prep. Attached to this email are a registration forms and tournament game rules. I hope to have tentative brackets out by Tuesday the week of the tournament. To do that, I need for the coaches to send in their information and registration fees. Continue to follow the new Buckeye Prep website (http://www.BuckeyePrep.blogspot.com ) for updated information. By the end of the week I hope to have things wrapped up.

  23. As I said, the schedule was emailed to coaches a few minutes ago and will soon be posted. If you are a coach and you did not get the info, then email me with your address. Some of you guys really need to calm down! The process takes a long time and is often held up by last minute changes from coaches changing their mind.

  35. Rob the updated schedule has Showtime white 11th grade team out of the tournament. I am one of the coaches and we did not drop out of the tiournament. The revised schedule does not have us in the tournament. Not sure why?

    ReplyDelete
  36. I took out the 11th grade team instead of the 10th grade white team. I have corrected the error and will be posting the changes. Sorry for the confusion! Pool D now has 4 teams and pool B has 5 teams.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I have moved to the O1 v P1 game from 8:00am at Whitehall to 10:30am at ODU.

  40. Are the ODU courts located in Alumni Hall?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yes, Alumni Hall. Also, I just sent out another revision with updates. Coaches and parents must check the OFFICIAL schedule at the time of check-in. There may be some changes between now and tomorrow (hope not). I can not honor any more change requests!!There is no perfect schedule, and every change I make effects another team. Everybody hates Friday, early and late games but they have to be played. Do what you have to to make it work.
