2010 BPR Elite Showcase "Honorable Mention"

As is the case at every showcase or tournament when individual honors are handed out, the 2010 Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase had some "Just missed" kind of players who fell just short of making one of the all-star games. In some cases, these players may have made an all-star team under a different set of circumstances (i.e., on a stacked team, was part of a tie, came on late in the showcase, etc.). Although they did not make the cut this time around, many of the players listed below will be talked about and written about over the next couple of years. In any respect, this list of players deserve a little bit of recognition, as they were ranked in the top 5 of their respective teams and very easily could have been an all-star. I'm calling this list my "Showcase Honorable Mention."

6th Grade: Dale "DJ" Tyree, Chandler Rankin, Andrew Jamison, Rashaad Ali Shakir, Joe Levitt and Seth Towns. 7th Grade: Tyler McCafferty, Kevin "Sticks" Fischer, Jamelle Curtis, Ronald Robinson, Xavier Holston-Sims and Ryan Grooms. 8th Grade: Jae'sean Tate, Bruce Hodges, Darius West, Jaylen Jones, Brandon Manley, Ryan Frey, Adam Gigax, Daniel Cage, Bryce Bailey Darion Burns, Chris Little, Larry Moore and Aaron Harris. 9th Grade: Breon Robinson, Jeavon Bess (8th) and Drexler McColly. Keep an eye on these kids. They may have just missed the cut, but they can still ball!! Check out the mix tape video shot at the showcase.

  1. So with the naming of these Honorable Mention Players, what does this say about the selection process of the all-stars. My point is this this, you have two kids whose names are listed to receive info from Ihoops, but didn't make the all-star squad. So were the Ihoops reps wrong in their choices or the All-star committee. I find it hard to believe how you get recognized by Ihoops but not make the all-star team, just something to think about

  2. Rob, great event again this year all the way around!!! Who would you say, based on what you currently know and have seen, are your top 5 from the Honorable Mention Class of 2014?

  3. I think I went into a lot of detail trying to explain that to you in my email. At this point, I would be happy with the recogontion he received. It just goes to show you, no matter how hard I try, there is always someone/people who are not satisfied and twist everything. Let it go and keep your child/player in the gym, he will get whats comong to him!! Sorry to be so blunt, but enough is enough!!

  5. Mr.Taylor who is your response to? Is it in reference to the all-star and Ihoops selections, if so you and I have never spoken or had any type of communication with each other at all and I didn't attend or have a child at the event, just a follower of youth basketball.
