Potts Evaluates Offers

Jordan Potts-Senior PG Northland

Last week I sat down with Jordan Potts, a 5'10 senior floor general at Northland High School, to get an update on his college recruitment. According to Potts, he is currently considering offers from UNC Greensboro, Radford and Bethune Cookman. Potts also reports interest from Indiana State, Tennessee Chattanooga and Southeast Missouri State. I asked Potts what factors would play into his college decision and he mentioned the desire to play at mid-major level. He also values the ability to “play right away” with a program that has “a good non-conference schedule.” Potts also does not see distance (from home) as an issue in his decision, and although he did not declare a favorite, people close to the family predict UNC Greensboro as the program to beat.

By most accounts, Potts had a solid summer and rapped up his AAU career with a nice run at the AAU Nationals. Potts agrees, describing his performance this summer as “productive.” Potts is also optimistic with Northland’s chances this upcoming high school season, and when asked how deep he thinks the team can go in the state tournament he indicated, “state, no doubt.” Look for Potts and his Northland team to once again make a serious run at another state title. With Cincinnati commit Devon Scott and Dayton pledge Jalen Robinson in the front court, Northland certainly has enough talent to get the job done. Good luck to Potts and his family as they ponder their decision.

  1. Playing right away could mean starting or getting minutes as a freshman. Everyone has a different meaning when you say play right away. Thats all. I am not trying to start anything becasue I do not know the youngman or the situation.
