Makail Cottingham-2021-Parma |
There were a number of elite players at the Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase at
Otterbein University on Saturday, but few were better than Makail Cottingham (6’0/PG/2021/Parma). We’ve seen Cottningham on
several occasions, but his play last weekend at the NEO event and his outstanding
play on Saturday has finally convinced us Cottingham is an elite PG, deserving
of a top 10 ranking. Of course he played
his way into the 8th grade all-star game and of course he grabbed
Top 5 honors.
Cottingham is a pure score who can score at all three levels. Tough to guard off the bounce, Cottingham’s
handle and dribble moves make him exciting to watch. Back off of him and he will knock down the
3-ball; crowd him and you may fall.
Cottingham is always in attack mode and more times than not, he’s going
to score. He may be a prolific scorer,
but he can also slip into playmaker mode as well. We've seen Cottingham use his excellent court
vision to find open teammates and to deliver pinpoint passes.
We’ve written about Cottingham several times, but he just
keeps giving us highlight material. If
you haven’t seen him play, you’re missing a treat. To our college coaches who follow this site,
we suggest you get Cottingham on your recruiting boards early, as he’s a definite
D-I prospect who’s going to be a hot commodity!
You heard it here first!
