Moore, Wenger, Smith, Geisel, Wright & Williams |
-Gabe Cupp (5’10”/PG/2023/Dayton) had another outstanding weekend at the Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase. Cupp is a great leader, is highly skilled and very coachable. He should be all of those things as a coach’s son! Cupp should play post high school basketball at some level depending on his continued growth and development.
-Ramon Jones, Jr. (5’11”/PG/2023/Brandy, MD) made the trek from Maryland and did not disappoint. Jones not only was ranked as the #1 player on his squad, he was selected as “Most Skilled,” and was described as a “great kid” and “very skilled” by his coach. He also made the all-star team as well. We’re happy he made the trip!
-Najah Wright (5’4”/PG/2023/Lorain) logged in another positive performance at the Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase last week. Quick, skilled with a high bball IQ best describes Wright’s game. According to his coach, Wright was the “Best Defender” and “Most Skilled” on his team. He is what we thought he was, a next level prospect!
-Jake Cubbison (6’0”/SG/2023/Perry) broke out at the Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase and made the 2023 all-star game. Cubbison penetrates well, is a good decision maker, is team oriented and is very well rounded! He also has good height for an 8thgrader.
-Demarie Thompson (5’9”/PF/2023/Grand Rapids, MI) represented Michigan well with an all-star game appearance. Thompson is athletic, a great defender, attacks the cup well, has a good handle and can create his own shot. Thompson should be tracked early!
-Joshua Jones (6’0”/WF/2023/South Euclid) was not only the #1 ranked player on his team, but he was selected as his team’s “Top Prospect,” which suggests his upside is huge. In fact, Jones was so good he not only made the all-star game, he was named an MVP! He was not on our radar before the weekend, but he is now!
-Kaden Brown (5’5”/PG/2023/Grand Rapids, MI) is another Michigan kid who came down to the Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase and made some noise. Brown is a shifty guard with quickness who can both defend and make plays. Oh yea, he was selected as “Mr. Hustle” and he made the all-star game!
-Brandon Rose (6’1”/PF/2023/East Cleveland) represented Northeast Ohio with an all-star caliber performance, including MVP honors. Rose is a great defender and is also very athletic; in fact, apparently, he got his first dunk at the event. He was new to our showcase, but we know where he is now!
-Kellon Smith (5’11”/WF/2023/Shaker Heights) has continued to improve over the past 2 years, and his play at the Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase confirms he’s still getting better. Described as a “workhorse” and “super strong” by his coach, Smith made yet another all-star game appearance. Smith could be an early contributor to a HS team next year!
-Jayvion Moore (6’3”/PF/2023/Maple Heights) has been one of the best players in Ohio in his class, and his performance at the Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase still conforms that. A perineal all-star at our events for years, Moore got it done again. A D-I prospect w/ continued growth & development!
-Braylen Wenger (5’11”/SG/2023/Dalton) demonstrated the ability to shoot the rock and punched his ticket to the all-star game in the process. We always seem to overlook Wenger, but his talent level and continued development suggest we should pay more attention to the kid. We will!
-Nick Williams (5’8”/SG/2023/West Chester) was an unknown to us before our showcase, but his all-star game appearance and “top Prospect” selection suggests we need to watch him more closely! According to his coach, Williams is “going to be very good.”
-If you need a shooter, call Gavin Geisel (5’6”/PG/2023/Centerville). According to his coach, Geisel is a “Great shooter.” He must have been as evidenced by his all-star game selection.
-Xavier Peterson (5’10”/SG/2023/Cleveland) logged in a Top 20 all-star game performance at the Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase and was described as a good defender, 3-point shooter and great player by his coach.
