With their 66-55 win over St. Mary’s Middle School in the
championship game of the Cleveland Youth Organization (CYO) on Sunday, the 8th
grade Emmanuel Christian Academy Rams secured back-to-back-to-back conference
championships. No player was bigger in
the success than Chris Livingston
(6’5”/WF/2022/Akron), who led the Rams in scoring throughout the 5-0 tournament
run, averaging 31 points and 11 rebounds per game.
Livingston’s outstanding play during tournament play was
consistent with what he did for the Rams the entire season, where he averaged
39 points, 11 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists and 1 block per game. Having played an integral role in all 3 Rams championships dating back to his 6th grade season, Livingston has
continued to develop from year to year. “I’ve never seen anything like it, he
[Livingston] just got better and better every year, and added pieces to his game
every season,” said Coach Marquise Grimes.
Livingston is not just a star on the court, he is a
straight A student and has made his school’s Honor Roll every year since the 5th grade. In addition, Livingston has won his team’s
Highest GAP Award every season he’s been at the school. Of course we’ve
highlighted Livingston’s many accomplishments for several years now and we are
not at all surprised about his continued success.
We will get a fresh look at Livingston this week when he
returns to the Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase.
Congratulations to coach Grimes, his players and parents for his
sustained success!
