Jeremiah Francis Represents Ohio in Top 50 |
Recently,
Jeff Meadows and Hoopsreport.com dropped their list of the top 50 players in
the class of 2019 (7th grade), and as expected, almost 30 of the 50
players listed participated in the inaugural season of the National Youth Basketball League (NYBL). As was the case at the 6th grade AAU
Nationals a few weeks ago, the NYBL was well represented on the national scene.
North Carolina Prep’s Wendell Moore was ranked as the number 1 player in the country
and is projected as a “pro” by the Hoops Report.
In
addition, of the top 10 players on the list, 6 of them are NYBL alums. Also,
the Buckeye State was well represented on the list, as 2 of our own were listed
among the top 10 seventh graders in the nation. Jeremiah Francis (#4) Jordan
Mitchell (#9) both reside in central Ohio and are among the best the class has
to offer.
Jordan Mitchell Ranked 9th |
If
you want to see these kids in actions, more than half the players on Hoop
Reports’ list will be participating in the Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase on
September 21st and 22nd. By most accounts, the exposure
offered by the NYBL undoubtedly led to the aforementioned players receiving national
attention! Congratulations to all of the NYBL players for this most significant
accomplishment!
Rob, did you feel that top 50 was accurate?
ReplyDeleteThe list varies from scout to scout. There are so many scouting services and opinions, this is only one person's thought. I think there were several kids left off, many of the kids on this list could be shuffled around depending on how many times you have seen the players. I do think the NYBL exposure helped most of the kids on the list. It was a tough league and the eyes were on these players and how they performed. Good luck to all of these players and keep grinding.
ReplyDeleteThat's just what it is people opinions. Whole lot of shuffling could be done I feel if you played were J.Meadows was you had more action. He has some of the best kids not mentioned no Joseph Cooper Motivation
DeleteYou are right...Jo-Jo is one of the better players and should be a top 50 easily. There are so many kids all over the country that it is impossible to give an accurate ranking. Play in the NYBL or another high level league/games and get noticed.
DeleteThis list is full of $hit!!! Rob can I put my top 50 list up on buckeye prep?
ReplyDeletePeople no reason to get upset I seen plenty of players back in the day get ranked and turned out to be just a great young aau ball player most of these kids will stop growing and not develop most of the kids that was left off will be the players we hear about watch also lets check the age of the top kids they should be in the 8th grade no hate just facts. These kids not even in high school yet so lets see what happens.
ReplyDeleteThis ranking kid stuff is weak look at the list you telling me that IN has 5 players ranked what a joke and t he reason they hot ranked because the camps are held in Indiana you pay $200 they will rank you also big joke very sure the parents have big egos now. This is a joke there is Know wayyou can check out all the players its only one person's opinion.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct, so relax. There are several scouting services which means several lists of kids that are on it and left off of some. Don't get upset and emotional over one person's opinion.
DeleteHate to alarm you but Hoopsreport.com is out of Arizona. No camps were used to make this list. Instead, a first hand viewing of NYBL, Division 1 Nationals and various tourneys nationwide. As the second 50 come out to complete our top 100, maybe your views change
DeleteRon are you putting together a top 50 (7th grade) player list from the NYBL.
ReplyDeleteThis Top 50 list has a lot of players on it that should be. However I seen teams in nybl and at aau nationals that had kids coming off the bench that were better than some of the kids on this list. Easiest way to look at it is use it as motivation to keep working hard! oh yeah who is jeff meadows and if he saw the same nybl and aau nationals i saw then he would have at least 1 or 2 kids from all the Elite 8 teams in the top 10 player rankings. Top Teams=Top Players. Jeff Meadows Thanks but your opinion is not based on facts. If you were like rob and covered this age group. You would know it better. Rob please speak up and tell the people the truth! Rob "the truth" Taylor!
ReplyDeleteI agree 100 percent. The top 50 list of kids should have come from those top 5 teams from the NYBL! Between Prep, D-Will, South Carolina Hornets, and Monsoon you should have had about 20 kids. Not trying to be funny but every kid on All Ohio Red should make the top 50. Even though they finished 3rd at nationals, and that was only because of coaching and substitutions, every kid on that team contributed to their finish, unlike several other teams that only have a few. The people that truly follow this class and were there watching the games know the real!
DeleteDial and Yates definitely should be on there they ran threw competition in march is yates comming flat out show kinda like a john wall type of gaurd were is he from Mr.Taylor we want him at king james this year.
ReplyDeleteJeff Meadows did not watch a single NYBL game nor did he attend AAU Nationals. This list was provided to him by Rob Taylor.
ReplyDeleteYates is not a John Wall type player dad cuz John Wall is a finisher at the rim, Yates is not. To be an elite pg you have to be a tremendous decision maker, Yates is not. At his small size he needs an outside jumper, Yates doesn't possess one. At D-II nationals with BTC he was a complete non factor. Not even the best 12 year old out of his own city of Dayton. And more importantly, his dad never puts him in positions to go against the best if he is suppose to be the best. Hear a lot of talk, but it's just that, talk. We know who the real young talent is out of Dayton, you see them play all the time against the top talent nationally! D-I to I might add!
