On Feb 3, 2011, Garfield Heights' Trey Lewis scored the 1000th point of his high school career. In the above photo, Garfield Hts Head Coach-Sonny Johnson and Garfield Hts AD-Kevin Hartman present Lewis with a commemorative basketball to mark the special occasion. Individually, Penn State-bound Lewis is enjoying a spectacular season. His stat line for the 2010/2011 regular season is as follows: 24.6 ppg, 6.2 apg, 5.4 rpg and 2.2 steals pg. Also, in terms of post season honors, Lewis was recently selected as Northeast Ohio Conference MVP. Finally, Lewis is widely considered an Ohio Mr. Basketball candidate.
In addition to his individual success, Lewis has lead the Garfield Bulldogs to a 19-1 regular season record; his team held the both the Plain Dealer Top 25 #1 ranking for the final 8 weeks of the season, and the Associated Press State poll title for the 1st time in school history. Not only is Lewis getting it done on the court, but as a "student athlete," Lewis is a National Honors Society Member with a cumulative 3.54 GPA. Leiws and will be attending Penn State University where he will apply for admission to the Business School. Congratulations to Trey and his family for a fantastic season.
