Scott Bradley's New Birth Warriors held off a scrappy Gahanna Lions team to move to 2-1 on the young season. Playing at home, the Warriors could only manage a 24-22 point half time lead before breaking it open in the 3rd quarter and finishing the contest with a 45-31 victory. The Warriors were led by point guard Jalani Rogers who exploded for a game-high 19 points. Rogers showed an advance skill set and a little showtime as he dominated the game. Other standout performers included Tyrell Carter who went for 10 points and DJ Tyree who contributed 7 points. For Gahanna, Middle School South's Junior Arrey was impressive and finished with 6 points. Next up for the Warriors is Olentangy on Saturday.

ReplyDeleteJelani and DJ are pretty talented kids for their age. I know that the coaching staff of New Birth will get the best out of these kids and they will be the top 6th grade team in Central Ohio.
ReplyDeleteMy one major question is why hasnt a middle school or high school program talked to Coach Scott of New Birth? I played for him in the early 90s when he first started off and he has only got better with time. He is a gem in Central Ohio Basketball community. And he is even better person off the court
