Big Turnout for All-Ohio Tryout
I stopped by the All-Ohio 8th grade tryout today and noted they had a nice turnout. About 50 kids showed up for the 2-hour tryout, several of whom hailed from as far as Cleveland. The session consisted of almost an hour of station work, followed by an hour of scrimmages. Some of the kids that stood out the limited time I was there included: Kipper Nichols (Cleveland), Kyle Stergis (Shaker Heights), Xavior Holston Simms (Columbus), Esa Ahmad (Shaker Heights), Nick Bapst (Grove City), Gabe Adkins (Upper Arlington), Andrew Francesconi (Tallmadge ), Quincy Storey, (Columbus), Tony Anderson (Columbus), Jae’von McClain (Cleveland), Jaquan Holmes (Columbus) and Isaacs Anderson (Columbus). Jerry Watson and his coaching staff plan one additional tryout next Sunday before making their final selections. The plan is to field 2 teams (Red & White) in this age group. Judging from the talent in the gym, All-Ohio should be able to field a very competitive team. To see the pictures I took at the event, visit the Buckeye Prep Facebook Fan Page.
