Johnson Impressive at Pittsburgh Jam Fest

Meechie Johnson-2021 PG Garfield Heights
He’s been one of the top 2021 players in the nation for several years now, but Meechie Johnson’s play with the 2020 Ohio Basketball Club at the Pittsburgh Jam Fest this past weekend was nothing short of impressive.  Despite playing up a year, Johnson was still able to get his game off.  In fact, he hit from beyond the arc both off the bounce and in catch and shoot situations.  He also had no problems creating separation from his defender and either getting all the way to the cup or driving and dishing to open teammates.

It’s clear from Johnson’s play at the 9th grade level that his transition to the high school game next year should be seamless!  College coaches should be tracking Johnson as he easily projects as a D-I prospect. We will get our next look at Johnson in person at the UA Next Combine Series-Midwest in Chicago in 2 weeks.  Below is a highlight video of Johnson’s work this past weekend.
