Rebels Claim Showdown Crown

The #11 ranked Rebels are still on a roll as evidenced by their 4-0 run to the title game of the TNBA Showdown in Massillon, OH on Sunday. To claim the title, the Rebels had to get by CG4L Gracia (61-28), VAC Air Attack/DOVE (60-38), SMAC Next Level (47-40) and VAC Attack/DOVE (52-45). The top performers for the Rebels were John Hugley, Big Nick Ferguson and Tahj Staveskie. S MAC's loss to the Rebels represented their first in 12 games.  Brycen Holiday led SMAC with 18 points, while Brennan Rains and Caleb Payne controlled the tempo.  Both players collected 4 steals in the game. 

Coach Danny Young’s #6 ranked All-Ohio Northeast squad claimed the 6th grade title at the TNBA Showdown on Sunday with a convincing 56-25 win over Lakeshore in the championship game. During their 5-0 run, All-Ohio took down the Ohio Hoopsters (44-40), Magics (57-18), G4 Life (63-15) and Varsity AC (45-22).  All-Ohio was led in scoring by several players including Tre Martin, Deon Horn, Danny Young and Antwan Peek.  So far this season, All-Ohio Northeast has an impressive 22-5 record. 

The #1 ranked All-Ohio Red 2022 lost to Indiana Elite Gametime 56-51 in the Silver division of the Adidas May Classic in Indianapolis, IN over the weekend. Paul McMillian IV led All-Ohio with an eye popping 30 points. Both teams are from the class of 2022 ,but were playing up in the 7th grade division.

Coach Aaron Perry’s #7 ranked MVP Dynasty (2023) team finished 4-0 on their way to the championship of the BW3 Super Regional in Cincinnati this past weekend.  The Dynasty notched wins over R4L (37-24), Ohio Stampede (44-25), R4L (52-29) and Ohio Stampede (39-37). Standout players for MVP Dynasty included: Dre’sean Roberts, Jamison Rivers and Tyron Barnes.

The #2 ranked Toledo Wildcats finished 4-0 while playing up in the 7th grade division of the Sylvania Challenge.  The Wildcats collected wins over Great Lakes Gold (47-23), Bay Area Bombers (57-34), Toledo Ice (67-27) and Sylvania Timberwolves (56-44).  The top guys for the Wildcats included Emoni Bates (Avg 19 ppg), Genesis Kemp, Demarko Craig and Dior Conners.  On a side note, we really want to see a rematch between the Wildcats and All-Ohio Red.  While Toledo is nationally ranked, All-Ohio Red currently holds the head-to-head win this season.  We will see that match-up at the season ending Buckeye Prep Summer Showdown Tournament of Champions June 17th-19th!

Brian Farmer’s #12 ranked All-Ohio Red 2020 team ran their season record to 26-7 after their 5-1 run at the Gym Rats Hoopin N’ the Summit in Fort Wayne, IN on Sunday.  All-Ohio’s only loss in the tournament was to the #1 ranked Utah Basketball Club in the championship game.  The top performers for All-Ohio were Blace Farmer, Carter Gray and Caleb Martin.  Look for many of the ranked teams to make their final claims at the Buckeye Prep Summer Showdown Tournament of Champions June 17th-19th! This "invitation only" event is designed for ranked teams and tournament champions.  Small in numbers, but BIG in competition!
