NYBL Teams Well represented in National Team Rankings

Coast2CoastPreps.com 2021 National Team Rankings
The National Youth Basketball League (NYBL) is built on the promise of “Elite Competition and Maximum Exposure.” In order to deliver on its promise, the NYBL must continue to attract the top teams in the country and Canada.  To this end, for the 2015 season, the elite middle school league has attracted some of the most elite 2021 teams in the nation.  As evidence, according to the most recent Coast2CoastPrep.com national team rankings, 6 of the 10 teams listed in their rankings all participate in the NYBL. New World Unlimited (2nd), Team Izod/Sports U (3rd), Team Takeover (5th), West Coast All-Stars (7th), Oakland Soldiers (8th) and Bmores Finest (9th) all have cracked the top 10. As session III approaches, Coast2CoastPreps.com’s power rankings will be heavily influenced by the results of the NYBL-created match-ups.  Congrats to all of the teams represented in the rankings!

  1. New World is illegal if you tell them to produce original birth certicates or state IDs they will be exsposed

    1. If New World is illegal than so is Team Izod and definitely Oakland Soldiers. At least 3 of the kids that play with Nightrydas Elite play with Team Izod and they brought a fella to Lebron that plays with a team in DC so technically they aren't a legitimate team to be placing 1st. YBR Elite, Takeover, and possibly Bmore Finest are the only true teams out there who elect to have maybe a player or two play with them in tournaments that allow for reclassification but still dominate in age based tournaments.

    2. Everybody knows New World is illegal lol

  2. A lot of talented kids but coaches & parents must realize the gig is up, reclassification is dead. U can continue to live a lie all U want but u run the risk of socially destroying kids for short term basketball glory. Playing down does nothing to improve young student athletes skills, confidence , iq or selfesteem.

  3. Dayton WOLVES are for real! They have a great group of kids that play good team ball.

  4. The most complete and legit 12U team is King James. All the kids have state ID's and all are legit 12U kids. They beat YBR (older kids), and took the Night Rydas (Older kids) to the limit. I hope true props can be given to programs that are playing by the rules and not living off this fake glory with these much older kids playing down 2 levels.

    1. Actually King James 12U has more than one reclassified player on their squad.

  5. All the whining is to much. Take all this stuff for what it is. Kids aint gettin recruited or even on a serius radar at any d1 or even d2 college level. So all this stuff is whack anyway. Wake up ya'll!

    1. So then why do it, why bother holding kids back for short term basketball glory, people should complain to let these hold back parents know how delusionally & stupid they look. But the most important reason to complain is for the benefit of the kids. Imagine being forced to repeat a grade & nothing move on with your friends, imagine being a held back & ur still not the best player or close on the floor, imagine as a kid having to lie about your age. These things can have long term negative psychological effects. Even worse imagine being older and a younger kid is taking u to school when u suppose to be better. Some parents are idiots.

    2. Stop actin like you care bout the kids man. You just care bout you own kid. Your kid younger play in against older so good for him. He goin get better. What make you think you know what right for everyone? Focus on your own and do what you think right for him and quit the cryin

    3. Stop actin like u care about anything other than trying to compensate for your failures as an adult. You probably never played the game on any serious level and make minimum wages which is why you trying to get strokes on the middle school level from that child. I'm willing to bet u a high school drop out with any iq below 70. Only losers put that much thought into holding kids. Anyone with a serious career and some level of intelligence realize its a fools game to invest all hopes in athletic scholarships.

  6. I agree with that. Not many if any getting seriously noticed by any D1's when they still in 6 or 7 or 8 grade. Maybe a few out there but not many. So all these rankings of kids and teams is just silly. Make for some entertainment or conversation I guess but that about all it worth

  7. It's alot of great talent out here even though its some kids out here that shouldn't be playing in this age group. If I had to pick the best player so far in the league I would pick Jalen Hall. The kid is a beast and I believe he's legit. Ty Washington from West Coast is a beast also and Trevor Keels has showed me alot but Jalen Hall is the best. If I had to pick the best coaching I would have to say it's a tie between Bmore Finest and Team Takeover. It seems like they get the most out of their kids and they have some type of structure. Columbus, Ohio should be very interesting.

    1. The best coaching is by far Bmore Finest. Coach Mookie does a great job with his kids on and off the court. He coaches 2-6th grade and his sidekick Janelle is great, as well. Takeover's coach isn't great at all he just has a talented group of kids. I heard most of the Takeover kids have been playing together for quite sometime. The Coach Takeover had last year is by far better and has more experience from what I hear. I'm not sure why he's not coaching this year.

    2. Coach Mookie is great but saying the coach of Takeover isn't good is false. Sounds personal to me.

  8. 2 Kids that play for the Nightrydas also play for Team Izod smh.

  9. Nobody's answering the question. Should a re-class kid be celebrated for being better that a kid he is over a year older than? It matters at 13,14 and 15. Huge developmental differences and advantages.

Question 2. If the re-class kid is nice. Why isn't he nice within his right class. Why is he not dominant there?

    1. Most of the reclassed kids I've seen especially the bigs are not better than the younger kids they play against. There are just a foot taller. When they do play against kids there own age for the most part, there is nothing elite about them.

  10. Question 1. No. But in terms of $$$ They use these kids as marketing tools. Question 2. Many Parents are delusional short term thinkers and unlike twhen most of us were kids today's parents believe u can manufacture success. But 1000s of dollars later they realize after all the b.s, all the daddy ball, all the age manipulation, our success is determined by talent, hardwork, determination, attitude etc. And no matter what u do as a parent u cannot control high school, u cannot go out on the floor & play for them. At some point they gotta want it for themselves.

  11. Kids don't need to be re classed until high school if need be that's when it helps all this ranking of players in the 6th and 7th grades doesn't matter I can see it in the 8th grade because their heading into high I guarantee you that the kids that BBall spotlight,MSE and P2Ball rank that pay to get ranked not C2Cpreps you guys do a good job exposing the kids who can't afford to go these camps the kids ranked 1-10 you might here about 4 of them in high school.

  12. I'm confused how the Soldiers are illegal? Grade exceptions are allowed it is clear in the rules. It's fine not to like the concept of hold backs but it is still allowed. Two of the Soldiers play up with the high school team and do quite well. Two of the 13 year old Soldiers made the top performer list this session.
Many teams have hold backs it's just different levels to the talent of the hold back.

  13. Basketball mom u r correct it's not illegal, the question is whether or not it's ethical. Example a 45 year old man can date 17 year old young lady, it's legal depending on state but it's definitely not ethical. The point we all trying to make is reclassifying kids or playing kids down is not only unethical, it's just pointless. Reclassification gives kids a false sense of success & we all know sucess & confidence comes from overcoming obstacles. In the short term kids dominate your kid because during puberty 3 months, 6 months, a year makes a huge difference in physical maturity. In 14u basketball u can overpower a opponent that's younger because of difference in development in the short term. As all the kids get older this will eventually balance out in high school. The point is scouts aren't watching middle or elementary school kids so beating up on younger kids is pointless and tasteless

  14. So why are obviously so many coaches and parents committing time and money to events where they know there will be grade exceptions then complain? I am aware of the grade exceptions and I welcome my 13 year old playing against the best talent even if they are older. If so many parents have a problem which I see from the comments, find a team that doesn't have grade exceptions that will play in tourneys based on new rules. It.seems as though more parents want their kids to have some media attention. So one of you that isn't happy start an age based NYBL exposure blog. Find the kids in the league that are of age and take the time to see how they perform. Take some pictures and write how the age based kids did against the hold backs. There is no point to constantly complain if you don't take any action. All of you anonymous commentators band together, divide yourself by class and make it happen. Let's see the stats for, write up and pictures for the 12's in 2021, the 13's in 2020 and 14's in 2019.

    1. Great post, chances are it won't happen folks are too lazy and thats too much work. As a parent with a few kids I am torn between reclassing and not reclassing. I wont make any decisions until 6th, 7th, or 8th grade.

  15. Because like reclassification it would be a total waste of money & time since college coaches are not watching middle school kids. People not complaining about NYBL, they're pointing out the fraudulent, delusional, short term thinking parents & coaches. I have no problem with Rob Tayor, he is a classy guy and a good businessman and like the Asians selling hair, u give the people what they want and they will pay. Reclass kids bring in $$$. kids Staying 5 years in middle school paying for tournaments & camps is very profitable. I stick with it because Rob runs good tournaments overall. He's stuck with the huge volume of reclassed kids and u cannot punish kids for the decisions made by parents & why not make profit of dummies they ain't gonna change. At some point what r we teaching kids Basketball Mom, take short cuts to success. That being almost 15 in the 7th grade beating up on 12-13 year olds is the way to get ahead. College is expensive, I know, but I'm @ a point where I believe $$$ has destroyed all of our values.

    1. I agree. There are a number of players playing in 2020 that are easily 14 nearing 15. That'd insane. Your kid will be damn near 20 when they finish High School. That's NOT a good thing. Rob Taylor isn't the problem the parents are. If your kid doesn't "make it" in basketball, what have you taught them. Everyone wants their kid to be successful but dribbling a ball is not the only way to do it. I hope that is being conveyed to these young men.

  20. King James shooting stars 12U are all legitimately 12 years old and under. all players have there state identification ,birth certificates and report cards. all players have a 3. 0 grade point average or above completing over ten hours off community service. enough said.

    ReplyDelete
  21. also King James shooting stars 12 and under had to compete in the Lake Erie national qualifier due to where the boys live, it should also be noted that they won the 13 and under bracket. .

  22. The FEAR is real! King James 2021 has a very, very good team! All 12U with state ID's. For the teams that made up all this false stuff about this KJ 2021team,I hope you don't have to see them at Nationals!

    ReplyDelete
  23. @Anonymous May 22, 2015...to set the record straight King James could not compete in the recent qualifier in Columbus because they have 6 players who are cross border according to the AAU guidelines....You cannot have that many players from varying areas on one team..In the past AAU has not enforced this rule but they are this year...You cannot have players from all over the country competing on one team anymore....So if the 6 players remain on the team together they will not be able to compete in the AAU Nationals....

  24. I hear what you are saying. There are two regions in Ohio. My sources tell me that they were ready to compete in Columbus but someone called the night before the tournament challenging the KJ team on where the kids were from and also the kids ages after they had been cleared to play by the person over the Ohio region. i am hearing they will be representing the right region at Nationals. Now what's sad is that someone would hate on kids that have been competing in the Ohio circuit at lest for the last three years and they are GREAT KIDS! My son team lost to them by at least 50. I told my son to get in the gym and work. He wants to play KJ to gauge his progress. And I say it again that is a very very good team with the right age kids and i hope the teams that was calling don't have to see them!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Quite a KJ fan. I'm sure you're not a parent or a coach and have no affiliation whatsoever with KJ. Sounds like KJ know it has to many kids outside the legal border limits and they know that rule. So they were knowingly going to play with that team this past weekend. So no matter what is said and who called them on it they was wrong for trying to get away with it. You can disagree with the rules but it's a rule.

    1. i think a person should know the facts before it is spoken on. Why lie on the children or the organization. What do you gain from making up a rumor. Support the kids no matter who they play for. If you take time to read you will see that they were cleared by the director, and he made the mistake not the team trying to get over, so FYI KING JAMES played in the correct qualifier, with all KIDS cleared by AAU. Facts not made up or spreading rumors. I guess you will see them at the Nationals. 12u!!!!!
