Murphy AC Grabs League Title

Murphy AC -TNBA Winter League Champs

Kevin Jackson’s 6th grade Murphy AC squad soundly defeated The Truth Basketball Club 51-21 to capture the championship of TNBA’s Winter League at the Euclid Sports Plant in Euclid tonight. According to Jackson, “suffocating defense” and a “total team effort” accounted for the lopsided win. Earlier in the day, in the semi-final round, Murphy AC cruised by the Bedford Raiders (79-39).

Standout performers included Shamaar Morrow, Tevin Jackson, Alfonzo Gaffney and Darius Moss Jr. There is not much time to savor the victory, as Jackson’s team will compete in TNBA 2nd winter league session which starts next week, but this time, his team will be competing in the 7th/8th grade division.  “We start league play next week to get ready for the NYBL,” said Jackson. Congratulations to the Murphy AC players and parents for a fantastic winter run.  Also, look for the Murphy AC players to be participating in the Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase in a couple of weeks.

  4. this is coach Jackson lets set the record straight on a few things! all players who play on the Murphy 2019 team are age or grade correct, and can be found on the NYBL team rosters. you can also find all my players at Ignatius High school every wednesday night 7:30pm -9pm working their but off getting better! I get that when you blow teams out by 30 and 40 pts. it may leave a bad taste in your mouth, but its nothing personal we are working on our game and you just happened to be in the way! Wins and losses right now dont matter its about getting better! thats why we will be playing up against 7/8 graders again to get better! anybody who knows me knows im all about gettin in the gym and getting better!maybe those of you out there who seem to have a problem with me now, should spend more time in the gym getting your teams better before we meet again! As for the David Dial jr. comment. best wishes to DJ and the Dial family. Buy the way congrats to Ignatius boys basketball team in the sweep of st eds this year! great job go wildcats!

  7. AOR has been playing 8th grade all year and winning by 30 plus. I think this matchup is just a little over hyped. don't think it will be close at all AOR is a whole different animal.

    1. Coach Jackson,I'm not a coach for AOR.I suggest to you the other day don't get caught up with this internet beef.People want to see you guys get into it.Because,I have seen AOR play this team is at another level.I know what you done with Murphy 2018 team, but this AOR team is a different type of BEAST.If Murphy 2018 win the state this year,I would love too see them play AOR 2019.AOR team will support Murphy in the NYBL.How do you thing this DREAM TEAM was form.AOR won the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP in 2011 and AOP won the CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIP in 2011.I heard BOTH TEAMS SUPPORT each other. So coach Jackson don't write a check that you team can't CASH.
