Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase Rosters, Team Assignments and Schedule (TENTATIVE))

Below is a link to the initial draft of the showcase rosters, team assignments, schedule, rules and evaluation sheet. I'm posting this information early so I have the opportunity to make necessary changes (i.e., name spelling, division placement, etc.) in advance of the showcase.  This information is TENTATIVE, and is likely to change between now and the event. If you sent in a payment and your son/players' name does not appear on a roster, please email me at Taylorobe@aol.com and I will attempt to solve the problem. If you had intended to send your son/player but did not send in the registration forms, his name may not appear on a roster. In fact, I still have several players listed who have not yet paid their registration fee. Consequently, they may be replaced between now and the event.

I hope everybody is getting excited about the event! As I have stated previously, this showcase is the biggest and most competitive event in the history of the Buckeye Prep Report! The level of talent that will be in the gym is unmatched by like events. Me and my staff are working hard to make this an exciting experience for all involved.  Please continue to visit the website as updates are being added weekly. Also, I will be posting the rosters for the Ohio North vs South and Michigan vs Ohio games in the next few days.

  1. How do the central kids know what team they're on ?

  2. If you are referring to the North vs South games, the central Ohio kids will be divided among both teams, in order to maintain competitive balance.

  3. Rob, how is it determined which kids play in the Saturday North/South game? Is this random or some type of highest rated/ranked formula?

    1. I start with my top 30 player list, then attempt to get the top 20 kids I can get from there.

  5. Rob,
Will there be a restriction on Defense? Man to Man only?
or is it up to the coach.

    1. I would prefer man-to-man! Not sure if I will mandate it, but at the very least, I will encourage coaches to avoid zones.

    2. I 3rd that. Anyone can pack into a 2-3 zone and force outside shots. If this is to showcase skills then man-up!

  6. Which top thirty player list are you referring to for the North/South game, or other challenge games? The one on the right margin of your website, or the lists you posted a few weeks ago?

    1. For the most part, they are almost one in the same. If you want a clue to who is likely to be in the game, I would look to the All-State Teams. Not exactly, but close.

    2. Do u think the lima boys will play in the all star game hmm its like Dak prichard and jar ward. They put on some shows last year. Vs the number 7 team in county Dak had 27 and jar had 23

  7. I hear Yavari Hall is a top player in the state and to some in the country. Then I heard he had a 44 point game not too long ago,but that means absolutely nothing.Warrensville Heights brought their 5 to an open gym and they were running everybody.Until a kid by the name of Jakari Tillman walked into the gym.Yavari couldn't do a thing with Tillman, but Juice was just embarrassing poor dude. Now I see why he has the name. Then you put this guy with another star Freshman guard in Keith Griffin both at Shaker. Now you have the most handle and dimes in the state in the same backcourt.Everyone's probably doubting Shaker because of the loss of Terry Rozier, but thats far from the truth.

  8. Really think Shaker will contend for state title this year..Rosel Hurley has gotten even better, Kash Blackwell is a truly underrated player and Esa Ahmad has gotten taller 6'7 and bigger 218lbs they will be a force
