  2. How does DJ Tyree make the 9th Grade All Star Team after he was kicked out of the last game for arguing with the official? That goes against everything that Scoonie Penn & Clark Kellogg spoke talked about. I can't believe the Coach still picked him. There were definitely more worthy kids with better attitudes.

    2. Hey Fella, this was my only criticism. The first post was not mine. Just a little hypocritical with the message the was sent by all of the speakers including Rob. Nothing to do whether my Son made the All Star Team. Other than that Rob did a great job. The event was awesome.

  3. This was our first showcase. I can say without a doubt, it exceeded all of my expectations. From meeting the level of competion to the mmeting of new kids, it was amazing. I know with my boy being in the 8th grade, seeing all the big name older grade guards was a treat. Seeing future D 1 point guards and how great their game is, made the trip very worthwhile. What i want to say to Rob Taylor the most, Thank You very much.

  4. You guys are so lucky that mostly all of the kids that play on AOP's 6th grade team had football games this past weekend......if not, that would have reshaped that entire 6th/7th grade allstar game. 6th grade purple would blast those 7th grade players I saw this weekend in Columbus......just sayin!

    1. Not sure I agree with that statement and my son plays for the AOP program. His name is Jordan. He is one of the 7th graders that you are talking about. My name is Tim....Thanks

    2. I agree. AOP 7th is better than 6th by 15pt margin. One year in maturity makes a big difference. Will the 6th graders be better in a few years? maybe

  5. For the record DJ did not get kicked out of our last game the ref asked me to sub him for questioning a call or non call what ever the case. I did and my discipline to DJ was to sit him the rest of the game and have him apologize to the ref. you are right I had a great group of kids on my team they all worked hard and what I asked them to do. I my opinion DJ was the best player on the team and one mistake did not warrant Me keeping him out of the allstar game!

    3. Much love goes out to the 7th graders that made the all-star team. Coryon was awesome and so was Dwayne and that sit down shot made by Higgens was the icing on the cake, and let me say this, yes my son plays for Murphy AC and much love goes out to their coach Kevin Jackson for all he has done for this team, if they all stay together and keep holding their head up high... the future is theirs. Parents keep your kids humble and my family and I can't wait to see what next year brings to this tournament. It was great all around.

Last but not least Thanks to Rob Taylor for putting this all together.

  7. quality of talent up, quality of team play and fundamentals, and sportsmanship way down. whatever scoonie and clark spoke about went in one ear and out the other for most. basketball is a team game, and sound basketball is what wins tough, close games that are "real" and that are properly officiated. I saw a lot "me" play this weekend but wow, what talent. Well run event.
