Rogers Leads Comeback

Monday night, the New Birth Warriors found themselves down early to a hot New Albany squad by about 10 points, before Westerville's Jalani Rogers put the team on his back a lead a second half comeback that ended in a 66-45 win. Rogers scored 16 of his game-high 24 points in the second quarter. In that game, DJ Tyree supported Roger's effort with a triple double consisting of 16 points, 12 rebounds and 10 steals. Tyrell Carter finished with 8 points and Jalen Tate contributed 7 points in the victory. Next up for the Warriors is an undefeated Dublin Rocks team.

  1. I was at this game and Rogers is the real deal. He is quick with the ball and can get to the basket very easy. Once he gets a lil stronger and taller he will go down in history as another great point guard from Columbus. But what I like about Rogers is that he plays lock-down defense and he is all about the team. He will be atop all the rankings in the state once he hits high school, trust me.

  2. Jelani Rogers is a special talent that will be a star by the time he reaches high school. I have coached a lot of talented kids over a long period of time and people ask me this question a lot, who does he remind me of? The late Reynoldsburg 1st team All Stater Javonte Clanton. I'm amazed at the talent this young man has at this young age. He is a treat to watch.
